Bev Cooke’s name is a byword for failure in prognostication. Those who bet against her predictions usually wind up better off than they’d been before. When not scrying the future, she splits her time between writing novels, Akathists, and devotions; walking; worshipping with her husband at All Saints of Alaska OCA Parish; and being a slave to her cat, Sam—partially fulfilling the prophecy of a priestess of Bast: “Dogs have masters. Cats have slaves.” Her latest literary contributions are in an anthology from Park End Books, Darkness is as Light, available at bookstores and on line.
