Meet our presenters!
- Zoltan Abraham – Zoltan Abraham was born in Hungary but has lived in the Seattle area for over three decades. Always drawn to religion, he has worked full-time as a lay minister in the Catholic Church for nearly a quarter of a century. (He is older than he looks.) He and his wife, Julie, have three cats, who allow them to live in a condo in Bellevue in exchange for their services. He has a deep devotion to the Virgin Mary. He is also an avid Hello Kitty collector. In his free time, he writes speculative fiction. This year, he plans to buy more free time on Amazon so he can finish some of his current writing projects.
- Tim Brown – As far back as I can remember, I’ve been interested in history and various aspects of science-fiction and fantasy – longer than I’ve been a Christian, in fact, only converting in college. Also been playing tabletop role-playing games since the earliest days of Dungeons and Dragons in the late 1970s, which remains my primary hobby. Long past ‘old enough to know better,’ I now spend my retired years indulging all the things I spent too much time on in my earlier years.
- Erica Rae Heins – Erika Rae Heins has been selling pen-and-ink and watercolor illustration for nearly 15 years now, with a focus on classic literature, Tolkien, and original designs, from cute cats and octopi to dynamic comic-style storytelling, Erika lives in Bellingham and sells artwork online and at Seattle and Oregon conventions.
- Father Justin Hewlett – Fr. Justin is the founder and rector of St. John of Shanghai Orthodox Church, the only fully English-language Orthodox church in Vancouver, the founder and main contributor to the podcast “Translating the Tradition”, the webmaster of the now-ancient and sporadically updated christianfantasy.com, a life-long lover of fantasy and sci-fi literature, the father of four children, and the Tech Team Lead and main tech teacher at Traditional Learning Academy Online.
- Robert King – Robert is a writer, editor, and part-time book jockey. He’s helped with the Doxacon Seattle Writers Group, and his work has been accepted into the Norwescon Writing Workshop and has been a finalist in the PNWA Literary Contest. When on Earth, he resides in Everett, WA, and currently serves as President of CG-UFO/Doxacon Seattle.
- Father Marcin Szymanski, OP – Fr Marcin Szymanski OP is a member of the Dominican Order, for last ten years he is working with the students. Avid video and tabletop gamer.
- Elizabeth Scott Tervo – Elizabeth Scott Tervo, a native of Boston, has lived in Bellingham since 2010; her husband is Fr. Michael Tervo of St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church. Her publications include a memoir, The Sun Does Not Shine Without You, published in the republic of Georgia (Azri 2021), and Eve in the Time Machine, a poetry collection (forthcoming from Basilian Media). Her poetry and stories have appeared in Ruminate, the New Haven Review, and Inscape, among others. She is the coordinator of the Doxacon Writers Group.

Doxacon Seattle 2024 information
This year’s theme is At the End of all Things: Utopias, Dystopias, and the Persistence of Hope. We’re looking forward to hearing our keynote speakers and other presenters explore this theme in the context of various fandoms and from different perspectives!
How
Membership can (still!) be purchased at Brown Paper Tickets – sales close the morning of the convention (Saturday, February 10). Membership WILL be available to purchase on-site as well – but we recommend getting yours ahead of time!
Where
Doxacon Seattle 2024 will be at the Brightwater Center (22505 State Route 9 SE Woodinville, WA 98072) in Woodinville. While parking at Brightwater Center is generous, we highly recommend carpooling (especially if going to the after-party, where parking is limited).
When
Doxacon Seattle 2024 will officially open at 8:00 am on Saturday, February 10th, 2024. We will be setting up the convention center at 7:00 am – we are always happy for volunteer help! The convention will officially end at 5:30 pm, with cleanup until 6:30 pm.
After the convention, we will be gathering at Zulu’s Board Game Cafe for an optional after-party. This is un-programmed time, meant to be an opportunity for returning and new attendees to (re)connect and enjoy fellowship & food together. If you’re available, we hope you’ll join in the fun!
Health & safety
Following King county recommendations, we are encouraging but not requiring attendees to wear face masks.. If you have tested positive for COVID or are experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms on the day of the convention, we ask you to stay home – you can request a refund for your membership from info@doxaconseattle.com
